About
Sport as a platform for development

Built on a belief in sport’s wider potential.
Athleon was founded by Muana Lubo Mukenge, a sport and education professional whose work has spanned coaching, community sport development, education and programme leadership. His experience includes working across school sport partnerships, grassroots development and educational settings, with a consistent focus on how organisations can create better opportunities for young people. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Sports Coaching from the University of East London and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from Kingston University. His undergraduate research examined the impact of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games on the host borough through basketball and sport development. This combination of practical experience and academic interest informs Athleon's focus: connecting sporting investment with stronger institutions, skills, social mobility and sustainable development, particularly across Africa.
